In September 2013 measurements with the helicopter-borne System ACTOS have been performed by the Institute for Tropospheric Research, Leipzig (TROPOS). The helicopter and the equipment were based on the airfield Beilrode near Torgau (Saxony). The ACTOS-measurements of cloud microphysics, turbulence, and aerosol characteristics were part of the German-wide research initiative HD(CP)² which aims on improving our understanding of cloud and precipitation processes and their implication for climate prediction. enviscope provided technical support for this project.
