The scientific project EMeRGe (“Effect of Megacities on the Transport and Transformation of Pollutants on the Regional to Global Scales”) investigates the impact of transport and transformation of plumes from major polution centers (MPCs). EMeRGe uses the research aircraft HALO as major platform to measure emissions of MPCs in order to investigate their impact on air pollution at local, regional and hemispheric scales. The first of two flight campaigns over selected MFCs in Europe from May 22 to Aug 4 2017 has been finished successfully. The second campaign over Asia will follow up in 2018. enviscope has contributed to this project by system development, certification, maintenance and field support.
